Broncos @ Ravens: 5 Key Matchups The Ravens roller coaster 2018 season will continue when the undefeated Broncos travel to Baltimore in Week 3. It will be Denver’s first road test following comeback wins over Seattle and Oakland. This early season contest could eventually have AFC postseason implications. The Broncos have won both meetings since the Ravens epic 2012 divisional round marathon victory and lead the all-time series 7-6. Denver is 1-5 as a medium sized underdog and 5-11 on the road since 2016. Over the same span Youth Matt Skura Jersey , Baltimore is 7-3 as a medium sized favorite and 12-5 at home. Both teams have fared well early in the season recently with a combined 13-3 September record. After a letdown in Week 2, and coming off a mini-bye, this is an important home game for the Ravens. Despite being forced to play shorthanded due to several impactful injuries, Baltimore can right the ship by prevailing in these five key matchups:RT James Hurst vs OLB Von Miller The Ravens could possibly reconfigure their line before the game. However, blocking Von Miller would be an arduous task for rookie tackle Orlando Brown. The much maligned Hurst was arguably Baltimore’s best lineman against Cincinnati. After allowing a handful of pressures to Carlos Dunlap, Hurst’s assignment will not be any easier this week. The perennial All-Pro Miller has not shown any signs of slowing down, he has already notched four sacks and a pair of forced fumbles in 2018. With Bradley Chubb and Shaq Barrett rushing off the opposite edge, the Ravens must give both of their tackles plenty of help in order to give Joe Flacco a chance to push the ball downfield.CB Tavon Young vs WR Emmanuel Sanders In his second game back from a torn ACL, Young predictably struggled to cover A.J. Green in the red zone last week. More concerning were his difficulties marking Tyler Boyd. However, with Jimmy Smith still suspended and Maurice Canady injured, Tavon is probably still the best option to man the slot.Sanders could do some damage against the the Ravens defense. The emergence of rookie Courtland Sutton across from Demaryius Thomas has allowed the veteran to find mismatches on the interior. Through the first two weeks of the season, Manny has amassed 231 yards and a score on 14 receptions.RB Alex Collins vs ILB Todd DavisDue mostly to game script, Collins has received only 16 rushing attempts this season. Fortunately, he has improved as a receiver, averaging over 15-yards per catch in 2018. Alex’s extraordinary tackle breaking ability will challenge Denver at the second level.Late blooming linebacker Todd Davis currently leads Denver in tackles and was recently promoted to defensive captain. Better against the run than the pass, Baltimore can find success in the short passing game by isolating Collins and Buck Allen on Davis. If coordinator Mornhinweg is able to keep the Broncos off-balance with his playcalling, this matchup favors the Ravens.ILB Kenny Young vs RB Phillip LindsayKenny Young finally saw extensive playing time with the starters after C.J. Mosley was sidelined last Thursday. The rookie did not disappoint , racking up seven tackles, one tackle for a loss, a quarterback hit and contested several passes in coverage. With Eric Weddle expected to relay the play calls, coordinator Martindale should use Young as the Ravens three-down ‘backer against Denver.Undrafted rookie Lindsay has stolen the spotlight from fellow rookie Royce Freeman. He has eclipsed 100 all-purpose yards in each of his first two games and is a dynamic playmaker both on the ground and after the catch. Assuming the Ravens can force the Broncos into passing situations, Lindsay will be featured, but Young’s speed gives Baltimore the means to counteract the scatback.WR Willie Snead vs CB Chris Harris Snead followed up his impressive debut by hauling in five of eight targets for 54 yards against Cincinnati’s rugged defense. If the Broncos roll coverage to Baltimore’s top playmaker John Brown, Snead will be heavily relied upon. His ability to create quick separation and maximize yards after the catch will be crucial against Denver’s top-5 pass rush.Harris has earned a reputation as perhaps the best slot corner in the game today. The multi-time Pro Bowler brings the skills to limit most slot receivers. Most of Amari Cooper’s 10 catches for 116 yards last week came against Adam Jones and Tramaine Brock, but Harris did allow a 20-yard touchdown reception to Seth Roberts. The battle in the slot will loom large on third down.Final 2018 season prediction for the Baltimore Ravens The preseason is officially over, and the 2018 NFL season is merely two days away. Below is my final 2018 prediction for the Baltimore Ravens.Week 1: Buffalo BillsThe Bills announced Nathan Peterman as their starting quarterback for Week 1, which should bode well for Baltimore. Buffalo’s offensive line will be among the worst in the league, while their receiving corps is far from serviceable. Ravens 24 - Bills 7Record: 1-0Week 2: @ Cincinnati BengalsThe Bengals offensive line should be much improved from a year ago, but there are still questions on the right side. Their defense will have several new pieces, including rookie safety Jessie Bates III. Like most AFC North divisional games, this will be a defensive slugfest. Ravens 17 - Bengals 9Record: 2-0Week 3: Denver BroncosThe Broncos’ biggest splash in free agency was signing quarterback Case Keenum, but they lost their No. 1 cornerback, Aqib Talib. Denver could be a wild-card team, or they could be picking in the top 10 again. The Broncos have plenty of offensive firepower Cheap Terrell Suggs Jersey , and the addition of Bradley Chubb could make their defense a top ten unit.Ravens 16 - Denver 21Record: 2-1Week 4: @ Pittsburgh SteelersThe Steelers are projected to win the AFC North, and there is little reason to doubt that. They have the best offense in the division paired with an above-average defense. They improved their secondary with the addition of Morgan Burnett, but their biggest question will be at linebacker. Regardless, Pittsburgh will win the first of two matchups with the RavensRavens 21 - Pittsburgh 27Record: 2-2Week 5: @ BrownsWith essentially unlimited cap space and draft capital, Cleveland found a way to acquire Jarvis Landry, Carlos Hyde, Chris Hubbard, Damarious Randall, Tyrod Taylor, and Donald Stephenson among others. This will not be the same Browns team of years past. Baltimore has had some trouble when facing Cleveland on the road, and this smells like an early upset. Ravens 17 - Cleveland 21Record: 2-3Week 6: @ Tennessee TitansThe Titans offense should be much improved from a year ago under new offensive coordinator Matt LaFleur. With a better offensive line, Marcus Mariota will have a bounce-back season. Tight ends gave Baltimore issues last season, and that trend may continue in 2018. Delanie Walker will have a field day as Tennessee comes away with the victory.Ravens 10 - Titans 20Record: 2-4Week 7: New Orleans SaintsThis will be a revenge game for Benjamin Watson and Willie Snead. Watson was a vital part of Baltimore’s offense a year ago, and he could have a big day against his former team. The Saints appear to be on track to win their division and contend for a Super Bowl. Ravens 17 - Saints 34Record: 2-5Week 8: @ Carolina PanthersThe Panthers traded for Torrey Smith and signed Jairus Wright, while also acquiring Dontari Poe. They drafted former Maryland Terrapin D.J. Moore to bolster their receiving corps. Carolina’s defense will be a top-10 unit, and the Ravens’ offense will fail to make much noise. Ravens 10 - Panthers 31Record: 2-6Week 9: Pittsburgh SteelersBaltimore’s losing streak will come to an end with a matchup against their rivals. These games are usually close regardless of records, but the Ravens will have the advantage this time around.Ravens 28- Steelers 17Record: 3-6Week 10: ByeRecord: 3-6Week 11: Cincinnati BengalsThe Ravens have been excellent coming off of their bye week in the John Harbaugh era. This year will be no different as they will dismantle the weak Cincinnati Bengals at home. Ravens 27 - Bengals 3Record: 4-6Week 12: Oakland RaidersThe Jon Gruden led Raiders have a lot of questions to answer this season Cheap Mark Andrews Jersey , especially after trading Khalil Mack to the Chicago Bears. Oakland will not have the fairy tale season many are predicting.Ravens 27 - Raiders 17Record: 5-6Week 13: @ Atlanta FalconsDespite making the playoffs, Atlanta’s offense had a disappointing 2017 season after an impressive showing in 2016. The Falcons lost Taylor Gabriel and Dontari Poe this offseason, yet signed Justin Bethel. The addition of Calvin Ridley will boost their offense, and they will contend for a division title in a tough NFC South.Ravens 24 - Atlanta 42Record: 5-7Week 14: @ Kansas City ChiefsThe Chiefs acquired Kendall Fuller, Sammy Watkins, and Anthony Hitchens among others this offseason, but their most significant loss was quarterback Alex Smith. With Patrick Mahomes set to be the starter, Kansas City will struggle. Ravens 27 - Chiefs 13Record: 6-7Week 15: Tampa Bay BuccaneersFormer Raven Ryan Jensen will return to Baltimore, but it will not bode well for his new team. Tampa Bay had an interesting offseason as they bolstered their defensive line by adding Jason Pierre-Paul and Beau Allen, but with uncertainty at the quarterback position, they will have another forgettable season.Ravens 21 - Tampa Bay 10Record: 7-7Week 16: @ Los Angeles ChargersThe Chargers were the best team that did not make the playoffs last year. They finished the 2017 season red-hot after starting out 0-4. Los Angeles has a dominant pass-rush that will undoubtedly test Baltimore’s new offensive line. The Chargers are Super Bowl contenders, while the Ravens may be a year or two away. Ravens 13 - Chargers 31Record: 7-8Week 17: Cleveland BrownsDepending on the rest of the AFC, this game may not mean much for the Ravens. At 7-8, Baltimore could conceivably still be in the playoff hunt. After losing their first matchup, the Ravens will be looking for revenge. The Browns have significantly improved this offseason, but sweeping Baltimore seems a little unrealistic.Ravens 13 - Browns 7Final record: 8-8
